As a CBD worker who works very close to the buildings to be demolished myself and my colleagues have concerns about the amount of dust in particular asbestos dust that’s going to be floating around. There’s a heck of a lot of demolition to be done. Queens Wharf don’t even seem to be able to confirm that there is asbestos. They use terminology such as “any asbestos found” as if there’s some uncertainty about whether there’s asbestos. There is tonnes of the stuff in those buildings. I would like to see their asbestos management plan. submitted by /u/Gatoblanconz [link] [comments]

A green bridge between Auchenflower and we west end would be cool
Would create lots of opportunities for really good cycling Loops and also connect Milton with what’s happening at West End and vice versa I think the Riverwalk altoughh it’s quite popular along Coronation Drive isn’t particularily nice compared to the west end side which is a bit greener. You can’t do much of a loop unless you do a really massive loop between the Go Between Bridge and that Green Bridge right the way over by the duck Ponds at the university. I think the University of proposing to do one towards the bottom of West End but none the less I still think we need one to link up Auchenflower which is kind of cut off by the very busy Coronation Drive. submitted by /u/Gatoblanconz [link] [comments]
Help wanted – Store credit with pet store.
Hi All Last week i made a foolish and impulsive purchased whilst very tired. To cut a long story short i have ~$700 worth of store credit at a pet store. Preferably I would like to get the money back but i understand this was my mistake and i need to own it. Though I was curious to see if there are people (in the Logan area) that need to purchase any animal supplies through me to get the store credit down For the record I’m not after making money off my mistake. If anyone is interested, send me a PM please. submitted by /u/Madetiredchoice [link] [comments]

For those of you who were interested in the Albert Street green spine. Nope.
Dear white cat Thank you for your interest in the transformation of Albert Street. Council undertook some initial streetscape upgrade works in mid-2015 to Albert Street, between Charlotte and Mary Streets. These improvements have enabled this section of Albert Street to be transformed as a temporary events space which facilitates an ongoing program of occasional events and other activities. Improvements provided in this stage included: · bollards that can be used to temporarily close off the event space area to vehicle traffic · traffic closure signage to redirect traffic during event times · power outlets to support event activities · footpath build-outs to shorten the crossing distances between some of the key street crossings. With regard to the longer-term transformation of the remaining sections of Albert Street, it is anticipated that this will occur incrementally over time as properties redevelop and provide streetscape upgrades within and adjacent to their property.
Bye Strathpine, dozens will miss you
