The “Father of the AIS”, former federal sports minister Bob Ellicott, has issued a statement, warning that the anticipated $50m a year proceeds from the proposed national sports lottery should be used effectively, criticising the Australian Sports Commission’s Winning Edge policy of diverting funds away from the institute towards the major Olympic sports.
