finally relocated to Brisbane. Just did a Entry Condition Report – so weird

So we just went through the Entry Condition Report with the owner and the owner’s agent of the small, post war box we just rented. What a humiliating 3.5 hours. I bought a new, larger mailbox but learned that I cannot mount it on the rotten fence without getting written permission first. I cannot change a light bulb myself. We’re supposta buy the replacement bulb then a special service comes and installs it, we get the bill. I find this level of infantilism bazaar. Should i get contents insurance?

Own a house. It’s insured. If it burns down i get a new house up to $550k On top of hill. Cannot flood. I don’t have electronics things apart from an old laptop. No jewellery. I think my house would probably not be hugely difficult to break into if someone wanted to and given that it’s an old Queenslander and it has lots of timber windows and doors and only 2 have crimsafe however I’m going to get a burglar alarm anyway. My furniture is pretty much all off Gumtree but it’s quite nice stuff however there’s nothing that’s really antique and particularily valuable. It would just take time to build up the furniture again given that most of it is kind of classy-ish. Mowing a cricket pitch in a council park.

Right, so got some mates coming round next week for a couple days before NYE, and we fancy a bit of a one day test down the park. The park in question is a large oval, away from the road, walking access only, but no cricket pitch on it. Hypothetically, how much trouble might we find ourselves in if we were to get caught after wheeling a mower down and mowing a pitch into the grass? I wouldn’t mow it so short as to kill the grass or expose dirt, just short enough so we can get a bit of bounce, and so we can easily get the vintage gray nicholls stumps from the shed into the grass. Are we talking a chuckle, and a stern ‘don’t do that again?’ – or are we going to be looking at a charge of defacing council property and a hefty fine? I

Hey, ordered a new phone for Christmas on the 20th, was hoping it would only take a few days to come from Sydney with express shipping. Can’t find info on which company is used, maybe just Australia Post Express Parcel. When is post delivered in this country usually? Any chance for a positive surprise for me today?
