I need some gig friends. Can we be friends?

Hi friendly people of /r/Brisbane, I’m a 26 year old friendly female science nerd, with an overwhelming passion for anything and everything music. While I mostly enjoy punk, metal, rock and grunge, I’ll listen to anything and am wanting to broaden my horizons by seeing new bands (local or international) with new friends. Sadly, none of my friends enjoy the same music as me, and I’ve felt that going to gigs alone or with somebody just to keep me company (who isn’t there for the band) isn’t as much fun. I really want to see The Descendants next month, and don’t want to go alone.. so what better time to start meeting new people to join me for gig fun. At the risk of this sounding like a personal, if you’re interested in being the Kerry to my Tom.. send me a message and we can chat 🙂 Thanks! submitted

Volunteer work and other activity suggestions

I’ve recently moved to Brisbane. I have Crohns disease and in between surgeries at the moment, so full-time work isn’t possible. I’ve learnt in the past that if I sit at home all the time I’ll dwell on things and get a bit down. Basically at the moment I’m bummed out about life and want to forget about my own problems and experience life. I want to occupy my days doing something productive – helping out and meeting people. Could anyone suggest some helpful websites or places I could go to to inquire? submitted by /u/6APe9 [link] [comments]

Partner Visa questions

Hey Brisbanites! Is there anyone here who has gone through the partner visa recently and if you have could recommend a migration lawyer? Seems to be a lot of paper work involved and really dont want to waste $7,000ish on a rejected visa if we have missed anything important. Cheers submitted by /u/HispanicPengjuan [link] [comments]
