Text message from Translink cancelling student concession fares

Right, so about a month ago a whole lot of people (I think it was over 13,000 students) received text messages from Translink saying their student concession fares would be cancelled as they weren’t studying ‘an approved course’. This turned out to be some kind of error and was fixed several days later. However today I’ve received the exact same text message from them again. I’m inclined to think this is yet another error, but want to know if anyone else has received the message? submitted by /u/SuperSteelCage [link] [comments]

I'm creating an app to help people learn about Australian indigenous culture and history in relation to a modern day context, does anyone know any indigenous graphic/interface designers in Brisbane?

As the the title says i’m looking for indigenous graphic/interface designers in Brisbane, particularly from the Turrbal/Jagara people. Or if you know any elders that I could talk to that would be amazing. I’m doing a not for profit application that will help spread awareness about Australian indigenous culture and history in a fun and relevant way. Thanks for reading! submitted by /u/thinkmotion [link] [comments]

Where can I buy replacement tips for heels?

I’ve tried googling but can’t find anywhere I can buy replacement tips for heels in Brisbane. I get them repaired every couple of months by a cobbler when the tips fall off but figure it can’t be too tricky to do it myself (hopefully). You can buy them online but keen for somewhere I can walk in and buy them this weekend so I’m not clunking on metal on Monday. Help?? This is what I’m talking about: http://newheeltips.com/pages/how-to submitted by /u/ech0e [link] [comments]

Men being creepo a-holes East Brisbane… a reminder to be vigilant.

Just this morning I’ve heard two stories of women being threatened because they are women, both around the Wynnum Road area of Morningside. My wife just told me that last night when she was at the gym, there was a guy standing outside the windows staring at her most of the time. She felt safe in the gym but was very creeped out by this guy, but thought maybe she misunderstood what he was doing (naive I know) and so didn’t act on it. She left the gym with another guy but they had to go different ways and she, not wanting to inconvenience anyone, went into the carpark alone where this guy yelled some obscene shit at her as she hurried to get out of there. She wouldn’t tell me what he said which is a sign it’s pretty bad tbh. This was at Snap Fitness, Morningside around 11:30pm

Sound engineers brisbane

Hi. Any sound engineers around that could please give some advice on how to properly soundproof the shared wall of my townhouse (just one side – the other backs on to a double garage) Having issues with the subwooofer the neighbour uses – though they are ordering a stand. Feeling and hearing the thud. Townhouse was built around 25 years ago. I am willing to lose some space for this – the issue is only in the downstairs and one section (where both our tv and lounges are). Happy to ‘build’ a wall and use the barrierboard product but wanted an indication if this would be useful given the issue with low frequency travelling and being felt, that it (from my naive understanding) can’t be ‘stopped’. Also, would moving my lounge and putting the tv (in my home opposite to how it is now)? Help? The tv is walll mounted
