Brisbane city police incompetence
Last night, I was walking back to my apartment in the city and there was a guy being aggressive and belligerent towards anyone who walked near him on the street, threatening to fight anyone. Living in the city, you see a lot and you know when things warrant a call to the police. This was one of those times, I called the Police Beat on Adelaide Street and let them know exactly what was happening and requested that they send someone out. I was then told “he’ll probably move on soon and won’t be there by the time we get there”. I continued to watch the display from my apartment for a while before losing interest and going inside. No police ever turned up! A little later, I hear an ambulance stop just up the street from where he was last seen walking, I thought nothing of it and went

What would you change about Brisbane in relation to infrastructure (broadly defined). What is your wishlist?
I will go first: I would like the riverside expressway gone. It writes off the river, even impacting on the quiet enjoyment of Southbank. I would create more parks and greenspace in the CBD (even lots of little pocket parks would be a good start) I would have a whole lot of light rail. Edit add one more: I would like to see really strict regulations on buildings that force green walls and green roofs. There are some (limited) nice examples. Should be compulsory. submitted by /u/Gatoblanconz [link] [comments]
Best op shops in Brisbane?
I collect/sell/lose money on old film cameras. Any good op shops that usually have a decent selection in Brisbane? The big one in Newmarket is pretty good, but a lot of their stock is often broken submitted by /u/aMazingBanannas [link] [comments]
Looking for accountant recommendations for US expat living in Brisbane.
Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong place. I’m technically a US expat (left when I was 2 years old and lived here ever since) and it’s just now come to my attention how stupid the US tax system is. I’m looking for recommendations for an accountant experienced with US expat regulations who can help me sort out my affairs, hopefully with a tight turnaround. Can anyone point me in the right direction? submitted by /u/Kaegos [link] [comments]

JB HI-FI
This is something I doubt a lot of you can relate to, but, I wanna rant anyways and this is the place to do it. Fuck JB HIFI and their shitty fucking vinyls. I saved up enough money to get my first record player and the vinyl for one of my favorite albums by my favorite artist and after the months it took of saving I finally had all the pieces. I start playing the vinyl and it turns out the fucking thing is scratched to shit. Fuckin album was about an hour and a half long but with the amount of scratches and skips it came down to less than an hour, they charge almost $60 for this thing. Anyways come valentines day and my girlfriend got me another vinyl from the same artist from guess where? Jb hifi. Was the record scratched? Yes, yes it was. It was
Help – Anyone know a United States Notary in Brisbane?
My partner (who’s a US Citizen) that lives in Brisbane is in need of a United States Notary to sign a document. The only notary is located at the US Embassy in Sydney which would be a beating to fly there and back just for a simple doc signing. Are there any United States Notaries in Brisbane that can help us out? Appreciate any advice. Thanks! submitted by /u/TriforceHunter [link] [comments]
