Kiwi needs a bit of help – Serial converter needed.

Hi guys, Visiting over from NZ and trying to help a friend get a boat up and running that is currently parked in Brisbane (Redcliff). Does anyone have an RS-485 to RS-232 or RS-485 to USB converter that we can borrow for a day/buy from you? Otherwise any suggestions of where to try? Jaycar seems to be out of stock but we are going to try and visit the stores to check in the morning. Happy to travel a couple of hours if we need to Cheers. submitted by /u/SykoticNZ [link] [comments]

Looking for girls for mixed TRL

Hey Brisbane. My team is currently looking for 2 girls for this TRL season. We already have 3 girls for the team. Game night is Monday night and located at Kedron and Stafford. We are a friendly team and the guys share the ball, they don’t hog. It’s a social comp and we are all just looking to have a fun night and keep fit when we play. Current ages range from 20 to 30. We start this Monday, $80-100 (depending on numbers) for a season (about 10 weeks) PM if interested. submitted by /u/UnseenShadows [link] [comments]

Strange cargo on citytrains after midnight?

I live in a cheap place in Milton. I have a clear view of the the train tracks from my place. I see weird things on trains. About ten minutes ago I saw a regular commuter train with what looked like water tanks filling the first carriage. Those 1000L plastic ones reinforced with metal on the outside that people often put in their backyards. I counted 19 before it zoomed past. Eh, sure, they want to take something from A to B. It was just surprising. The whole front carriage was full of these massive, heavy water containers. Do they take a forklift into the train to get them in and out? They’re so big! Anyone got any info on this? I’m fascinated 🙂 submitted by /u/alltiredout [link] [comments]
