What do you do when you have to apply for work, but the thought of working another generic, go nowhere dead end job is worse than the thought of dying?

So I left school early and went to work for different places for a few years, longest position I held was jockeying a phone for a telco for over two years, I hated every moment of it. Every day. I would have nightmares almost every night all involving fucking work. So after having what was probably some form of breakdown I lost my shit and ended up in Brisbane, enrolled in study and for the first time I was actually pretty good at something that actually cared about. So I graduated last year, fuck yeah, go me. I mean it’s only Tafe but whatever. So now because of the niche field I studied as expected having a hard time getting my foot in the door. What was the name of that 90s/00s Brisbane punk band?

I’m rediscovering a whole bunch of music from my younger and more wild days. I used to follow this Brisbane punk band around and see them at least once per month. Not The Disables. These guys were a bit different for a punk band – they had a DJ in there as well. Just as I type this, I remember they had a song called ‘variation on a theme.’ I can’t even tell you what they sounded like outside of, ‘punk but with a DJ.’ One time I distinctly remember seeing them was a twilight gig at the Capalaba skate park. I’m not sure what the gig was for, but they’d set up a proper little stage and there were about 4 of 5 bands that played and it was mostly punk or pop-punk.
