I’ve been using an old hand-me-down Briggs & Stratton mower from my dad for the past few years. He’d bought it new, 30 years ago. Whipped it out this afternoon, refueled, checked the oil, and fired her up. Just like always, she starts on the 2nd pull. Sadly, within 90 seconds, something went bang and oil started pissing out everywhere. I’m not mechanically-minded, but it looked like a piston/rod issue. Regardless, she’s toast, and certainly wasn’t worth trying to fix. I’ve just returned from the dump where she was unceremoniously handed over the the recycling station. As such, I’m chasing a new one. Don’t mind dropping a bit of coin, particularly if it’ll last 30 years like this one did. Have heard good things about the Honda 4 stroke options. Don’t really want anything from Bunnings either as would prefer to get it from a mower centre who does servicing
