Telstra Cable Broadband outages

I’ve been having internet connectivity issues the past month or so. Nothing wrong my equipment (as far as I can tell) and nothing on the Telstra support page about outages. I call their support line (yes I’ve turned it off and on again) and they don’t know anything so they arrange a tech guy to come around a look at it. The next day it starts working again so I cancel the tech guy. Following week it starts acting up again. Check all the same things again, another visit by the tech guy booked in for tomorrow. He comes today. Sigh. Anyway, he tells me that the next suburb over is being upgraded to NBN and that is the cause of my internet outages. Why isn’t that on the Telstra support page? Why don’t their telephone people know about it? Why is it knocking out my internet for whole days
