I hadnt seen a cop around the 4 to 2 lane merge on the M1 just before it merges with the gateway and after the garden city exit for months but I got pulled over two weeks ago and saw two there just today. They’re hiding under the bridge, up the busway exit lane and just around the bend when the emergency lane starts to open up. The speed is 30 on the side there unlike the 40 that I thought it was when the filtering laws were first introduced. Doing 50 down that side is an easy $300 fine. I’m actually pissed off about it, there’s almost no safety issue with how much room there is on the shoulder and if anything being in between all those cars is what’ll get you taken out yet they’re blitzing there trying to get their quotas up.
