Converting electric to gas cooking in old-ish apartment – body corporate issues?

I’m in the market to buy a second-hand 2 bed, 70s to 90s brick cavity build apartment within Zone 1 in the next 6 months. A feature important to me is having gas stove-top cooking. I’ve come across several places I really quite like, with the exception they have really shitty electric stoves. When I’ve asked agents how easy it is to upgrade they’ve given me mixed responses ranging from “Sure! that’s super easy” to “ahhhh, won’t be cheap… you’ll have to run it by the bodycorp as you’ll need to drill through walls, potentially rip up some concrete paths (etc)”. There seems to be reliable information around on setting up a LPG solution with gas tanks sitting out on the balcony, but this does not seem like an ideal setup. Connecting to main line natural gas seems better, right? So, anyone got any reliable insight into this? More generally,
