Hey all, My partner and I might be looking to buy a car together in the near future. I’m wanting to trade in my current car to go towards the new one, and as such I don’t really have the option of going through the rigmorale of first selling my car privately (which I know would yield a higher return) etc. The couple of times I have visited a used car yard in my life have been overall negative experiences, for exactly the reasons you can picture. Pushy, asshole salespeople. Bullshit 80’s sales tactics etc. A friend of mine recently had similar experiences when he was looking to buy a new car (complete with the “Well, my boss isn’t going to be happy about this…” line, with the boss then walking into the room right on queue and providing an Oscar-worthy performance about his level of unhappiness about the price
