I’m sick of my boring house, the ceilings feel low and claustrophobic. It’s 2 stories with a gable type roof. I don’t want to lift the lid off with a crane, I just want to have the plaster removed and everything ‘redone’ to expose the rafters and give me some breathing space (also increase value and look amazing, hopefully) I saw a blogger in the US who managed to have this done for under $6k. I’d happily pay $10-15k to have just my upstairs kitchen done, but do you need a specialist? The blogger I read about had a structural engineer and I’m not sure if it was a specialist builder or not. I can hire the engineer easily, but what about the demo and stuff? Anyone know about this stuff?
