You may have already noticed but the landmark Sizzler’s on the edge of the Toowong village shopping centre closed on November 6. Collin Foods Limited, the company which owns Sizzler, is in the red, having posted a $10.4 million loss for 2016. The Brisbane-based company, which first started operations in Brisbane in 1969, operates 21 company-owned Sizzler and 191 KFC restaurants in Australia plus 65 franchised Sizzler restaurants around Asia and 5 company-owned branches of Snag Stand. Collins Foods is expected to close several other Sizzler restaurants sometime this year.
