Ok, so curbside pickup is happening in my area at the moment so naturally, the streets are lined with people’s unwanted shit. Anyway, naturally some of our unwanted shit was put out too, included in this was a stand up fan, you know the type, white and basic from Kmart or Bunnings for like 9 bucks. So we get home today and someone has dismantles it and taken just the motor, meh whatever. However, when driving around I see plenty of other people with a similar fan out the front of their places which have also been dismantled and motors taken, I counted at least 10. Is there a reason for this? Is there some secret use for old fan motors or something? Please enlighten me! submitted by /u/SluggoBambino [link] [comments]

Australia Sub Mderator
So there is a moderator on the Australia post who blocked me for linking a post from news.com about the new Chinese influence in Australia. I was called abusive for calling someone cockhead after being called a wanker. Wondering what Brisbane redditors think about moderators who just use their own sensibilities to block others? submitted by /u/GPP1974 [link] [comments]

How much website does $1000 get you these days?
So, there’s a guy our band is paying to do a website for us. So far, we have one long page consisting of an embedded media player that plays one song, but doesn’t tell you what it is, six fullscreen photos in an unbroken block of static images, a list of songs and an email form. Is that all you get for a thousand bucks these days? I might have to change careers submitted by /u/L1ttl3J1m [link] [comments]

Where can you screen a film in Brisbane?
A mate of mine has made an indie film and is looking to screen it somewhere. He is thinking a Cafe or bar that would have space for about 30-40 people. I’m thinking surely there are small cinemas around the place that do that sort of thing. Does anyone know of anything in Brisbane that would suit an indie film screening?? submitted by /u/Sendmyabar [link] [comments]
