Cable internet in Brisbane: help!

Just hoping to get some thoughts from fellow Brisbane Redditors around Cable internet. I live near the Gabba and have had Optus Cable with premium speed pack for 5 years now. I have this intermittent problem where internet speeds are super fast during the day but at night they drop to the point I can’t run HD streaming and any kind of downloading drops to about 350KB. I understand congestion in the evenings but this is crap. I find that when I have the energy to ring them and go through 10 minutes of button mashing and then waiting for a human voice, eventually (sometimes) they fix the problem for a while I am wondering if I would get a better experience with Telstra. Hitchhiking into Brisbane in a few days, where are some beautiful places?

Been travelling around Australia a bit- just came down from Cooktown and going to Brisbane next where I’ll try to Helpx and find a job, etc. I stayed in Sydney for a bit and kind of saw what it had to offer, but with Brisbane I’d really like to actually get to know the city. Wife and I are looking for a home. Mixed reviews about Moorooka, but I wanted to get your opinion.

I have been in Brisbane for a week now and my wife will be joining me in a week. We are moving down from Colorado and are looking for some permanent accommodation while I’m doing some work at UQ. Moorooka seems to have cheap housing that is nicer than some of the surrounding areas, but I’ve read mixed reviews on the area (including one post on here from roughly three years ago). It looked like there was an increase in crime a few years ago, but I haven’t seen a lot of reviews about it lately. So, I’m asking your opinion. What is your perception of it?
