Homeware Store in Brisbane?

Hi, I just moved to Brisbane and I’m looking for a place in central Brisbane/around QUT/Kelvin Grove/Windsor area where I can get some cheap homeware stuff like pillows, a small bin, a small lamp etc. I’m looking for something like the equivalent of Primark or Wilkos in the UK if anyone knows what they’re like. Could someone please recommend something? submitted by /u/BiancaaSt [link] [comments]

Recommendations for small-dog friendly dog parks

Hello, I am looking for a dog park that is small dog friendly. I have a small beagle and a Maltese-Shitzu both of which are a little timid around big dogs. I have been to a few dog parks which are nice, however if there are large dogs, they tend to get (playfully) chased and bowled over and ends up scaring them. Are there any parks that have separated areas for small dogs/ puppies to bigger dogs? Brisbane South is preferred but inner city and inner north suggestions are also appreciated submitted by /u/Xianthia [link] [comments]

What's your view on the new ID laws/scanners?

Whilst I’ve not been out and to a venue when the laws apply I’ve been following the public debate around this and I have to admit I’m not getting the negative sentiment/uproar/outrage around this… So far as I can tell the uproar consists of: People complaining they get locked out because they don’t take their license with them when they go out at night – Seriously? who goes out to socialise etc without their ID? You’re walking to a taxi rank and some bogan punches you and you’re in hospital – how do the police ID you and notify family? Its inconvenient – we have to line up to get in – the fuck? If its that inconvenient why aren’t you bitching about lining up to get a drink? Or the lack of ladies toilets? The queue outside the ladies is worse than the queue to get into the venue…
