Do you Halloween?

Hi Brisbane! I’ve recently moved back to Brisbane after spending 5 years in Sydney. I lived in Redfern (central Sydney) last Halloween, and for the first time we decorated our house for the kids, both big and small. We had a great turn out, although we were one of only a few on the street that really made an effort. I wondering if this year it’s worth the effort. Does Brisbane do Halloween? Do you have kids? Do you take them out? Do you decorate and offer lollies? I know plently of adults use it as an excuse to have parties. But it was so, so much fun to decorate and scare/entertain the kids. I’d love to do it again. I still have my smoke machine. Thoughts? Feelings? submitted by /u/Babettewest [link] [comments]

Fun things to do for a birthday in Brisbane?

I’m just looking for fun day activities. Not for a birthday “party”, just for like probably 2 people but maybe up to 4. I was looking at mini-golf but there doesn’t seem to be anything exciting – I google and there’s cool indoor ones interstate but nothing here really. The other thing I was looking at was those Puzzle Rooms? I’ve done one before in Mount Gravatt and it was a lot of fun, are there any other cool ones you’d recommend? Or any other suggestions are welcome – I was looking at things on the Gold Coast like infinity and the haunted house, both would be a little bit of fun but I’d prefer to stay in and around the Brisbane area, but travel is ok if it’s worth it. submitted by /u/genericworkaccount_ [link] [comments]

Any acoustic or sound engineers about?

I recently purchased a townhouse (1996 construction shared walls) and am having issues with the neighbours sound system (subwoofer) coming in to my loungeroom as a ‘boom’ sort of reverberating ‘felt’ noise… Traffic sound, airplane noise, barking dogs etc don’t bother me but this is hard to ignore as you can feel it. It means I can’t enjoy my tv or quiet reading time. I have spoken to the neighbours and they are very reasonable but even with their sub turned down the noise is very audible and felt in my home. I spoke briefly to a company, who were very nice and helpful, that sells ‘barrierboard’ … Which consists of two sheets of differing thickness gyprock separated by an insulating layer that acts as a decoupler. These sound proof panels are available in two sizes, 2400×1200 and 2700×1200. Unlike standard plasterboard panels, the composite Barrierboard product is rigid, ensuring

Brisbane aviation people (GA), where do I find you in the wild?

Im currently a student pilot and have no plans of going beyond PPL. Is there a community/club/group out there for someone like me? I’d love to meet others to expand my circle and no doubt learn countless amounts of invaluable info.. Every other hobby/sport I’m part of has distinct and easy to find groups to be part of but the same doesn’t seem to be true for GA? submitted by /u/Atheizt [link] [comments]

Sharing a Go Card..?

I’m needing to travel into the CBD every day for the next month, and plan on doing so via train. My sister in law has a student Go Card registered in her name, with a considerable balance and has offered it to me for next few weeks. If I were pulled up by Transit Officers, what are the chances they’d ask for my ID? Is it worth the risk? submitted by /u/lipsticklxsbian [link] [comments]
