[Help] Moving to Brisbane in Jan 2017!

Hi there! I’m moving to Brisbane in Jan 2017 to start my MD program at University of Queensland, St. Lucia campus and I was hoping some redditors can assist me with preparing for the move. I’m coming from Vancouver, Canada! My number one concern atm is housing! As I have no family or friends in Brisbane I have no idea where to look for. Where would you guy suggest a poor student can find a place to live? Hoping it is close to an affordable grocery store nearby! I was thinking of getting housing on campus but I’m not sure if I want to be living with a bunch of 18yr old/first years. Also, what are your thoughts on public transportation? Misty night

Holy shit is this cool. I’m in the northern suburbs so seeing something like this is awesome compared to the extremely ordinary climate we usually have. Brisbane Travel Advice

Hello Brisbane, I am coming to Australia for a short holiday in October, beginning with me spending two nights in brisbane before heading off to meet family. Firstly, where would the best area/place to stay in regards to meeting people and nightlife? Also, is there anything I should know about Australian customs when ordering at a bar/restaurant and meeting new people? Finally, what should I see in brisbane?
