Looking for areas that I can walk/exercise around Nundah or Oxley.

I work in Nundah and live in Oxley. I like power walking but hate pounding streets or sidewalks. Is there anywhere between Nundah and Oxley where it is safe for a female to walk after work (leave work at 4.30pm, usually make it to Oxley by 5.30pm). I just want to put in my earphones, not talk to anyone and just walk. I know Brisbane is regarded as relatively safe but I just need somewhere where I don’t have to deal with cars, crossing streets, and bumping into too many people but also wont come across sketchy people. thank you! submitted by /u/patticake1601 [link] [comments]

PSA – Make sure to lock your doors/windoes when you're out or at night

Hey Don’t usually post but thought I’d just give a heads up, there’s been quite a few break ins in the last few weeks around the newmarket area I know of 3 people who have been hit, one of which who had their car stolen, and another targeted while the whole family was asleep Don’t want to come across as fear mongering, just putting out a quick reminder to make sure your doors are locked before you go out or go to bed to avoid this happening to you Cheers Quick edit: meant to spell windows on the title, oops submitted by /u/killavibes09 [link] [comments]

Woodwork shops in Brisbane area?

I’ve moved up to the Northside recently, and was hoping to find some kind of wood/metalwork shop you could pay a fee for and just use equipment and build whatever. If they did classes too that would be fun, but not necessary. I’m pretty green but I know roughly what I’m doing. For example back on the GC there was one attached to a church but anyone could go, you’d pay something like 20 bucks a year to cover insurance and a couple of bucks whenever you went in, could use their lathes, saws, pay a bit extra and have access to their scrap wood etc. I’m not looking for anything too grand, I just have a tiny garage and I had a few projects I wanted to try out, but didn’t want to bother all of my tightly packed in neighbours.
