Had my bag searched whilst getting onto the bus…
Hello all, Whilst getting on the bus tonight the driver asked to look in my bag. I believe he did this as a result of the incident on Friday. He did this to everyone that got on. Has this happened to anyone else? Im not complaining that he did this, but I am disappointed it has come to this. Everyone should be able to catch the train in peace, and furthermore all bus drivers should feel safe in their workplace. The bus driver was really nice about it, and nobody was a dick about it which is good. I can also see it from his side whereby he wants to ensure his own safety and that for his passengers. submitted by /u/Timmmmmtam [link] [comments]
Café/Coffee shops with wifi + power for working 3-5 hours
Hi. I’m looking for any cafe’s or coffee shops in Brisbane that have both power (to charge a laptop) and wifi that I can stay for 3-5 hours. I believe Starbucks has wifi but only for one hour. I’d go to the library though it closes fairly early. Thank you. submitted by /u/algrensan [link] [comments]
Anyone else getting more frequent blackouts lately?
I’m in Carindale, and over the past few weeks we have been getting blackouts. They’re really short, 30 seconds or so – but it’s knocking the entire local area out, streetlights included. Just had another one now, the one before that was on Wednesday night just gone. Who else is getting this? submitted by /u/Teh_Cactus [link] [comments]

Where do you go to cool off?
I lived in Darwin for two years before heading to live here, which I am loving. What I have found surprising are the local pools. Not much of a grassy area and I’m finding just a boring 50m lap pool. In Darwin, there were lots of free pools and water parks. So besides the usual, South Bank, Redcliffe, Orion, the beach and your own pool, where else do you head to have a dip and chillout? submitted by /u/juzzyg [link] [comments]
