Relatively new home-owner’s stupid Question about Home internet. How do I move away from Telstra?

I live in a relatively new development, 5-7 years old. I am not lucky enough to even appear on the NBN’s rollout list… but I am out of contract with my Telstra connection. I called up Optus and IINet, both saying they are unable to provide me plans in my area. I assume its due to not owning cables in the ground? maybe? Can someone please give me a ELI5 on this, and how I can move to the faster/cheaper/more data plans other providers supply? submitted by /u/phdinbullshit101 [link] [comments]

Telstra tech contact to report a strange tech issue

So, somewhere in the (Brisbane) CBD is a Telstra cellsite that has the time set wrong – it’s set to GMT and not to AEST. To be clear, the time is set wrong, not the timezone, so your phone goes back ten hours. If you have a Google Pixel, which is set to automatically get the time from the network, you’ll notice when you arrive in front of the City Hall (going east via Caxton Street) your phone will say the wrong time – because it’s around there that the broken cellsite is. For some reason, the Pixel doesn’t switch back to AEST again – perhaps it gets rather confused. I’ve seen this behaviour on two Google Pixel phones now (one normal, one XL) and over here someone else mentions the same issue in Brisbane CBD. It’s happened to me twice, and to my partner as well. Anyway – I’d

Unique "green titles" for some redditors here?

Only recently, I noticed (when viewing from the ios app) that on this subreddit, next to some people’s names is a green text. Usually something funny. I got one as well yesterday and I dont know how I got it, or why I got it (not offended or annoyed by this at all, tbh I think its pretty cool). It would be greatly appreciated if someone explained to me how this system works. Thanks 🙂 submitted by /u/RoyalSky [link] [comments]

What happened to the Boggo Rd Markets?

Does anyone know why the Boggo Rd Markets died out? When we lived at Highgate Hill a few years ago we used to go all the time and they were really popular, but the other day we went there only to find they were no longer running. I always thought it was a great venue. Did Brisbane oversaturate the market and the crowd moved on to the next hip site? submitted by /u/Cafescrambler [link] [comments]
