Info: Every Friday. I will generate new post on /r/brisbane and talking about a hot topic. Rather then just discussing my personal health problems with 18,334 people. This week Hot Soup Topic: Tax Backpacker tax has passed the Senate after the Greens agreed to a deal to support the Coalition’s preferred 15 per cent backpacker tax rate in exchange for significant concessions from the Government. The question is What would you suggest we tax? Who will go first? Are there any really fancy vegetarian restaurants in Brisbane?
I don’t live in the area (or state), but after watching the recent Please Like Me, I’d love to take my parents out to a nice dinner. I’ve been vegetarian for years, and the parents have recently ditched meat after my stepdad’s recent cancer diagnosis, so obviously most of the really nice places are out of the equation. Anywhere that does a fixed multiple course menu? I mean, I could take them to Gopal’s haha, but that’s less of a gift and more of a suggestion. submitted by /u/camp-cope [link] [comments]
PSA: Spencer Howson's last day on 612 ABC Brisbane is tomorrow
It’s the last show from /u/spencerhowsonbris – on breakfast, at any rate – tomorrow on 612 ABC Brisbane. It’ll be a strange new year without him; indeed, the radio station is changing name on January 9th, to “ABC Radio Brisbane” (a much better name if you ask me). Anyway, just so you know. submitted by /u/jamescridland [link] [comments]

Weird Places in Brisbane
I’ve been living here for 5 years now and I can’t seem to find any weird or strange places to visit. Are there any unusual places here that don’t include The Valley when the sun is up? I’m thinking of the type of thing that would be on that Atlas Obscura website submitted by /u/CultofPersonality3 [link] [comments]
