Looking for room to rent!

Hey there everyone, I’ve recently split up from my partner and I’m looking for a room to rent at the moment. I’m a 21 year old soon-to-be student working part-time who is a big fan of music and gaming (particularly smash bros/world of warcraft but I also play dota/lol and a whole plethora of things). I mainly keep to myself a lot of the time, but if anyone shares some similar interests I’m definitely down for playing and talking a lot. I’d probably come out of my shell :p! I haven’t had much luck using sites like flatmates.com.au, people are generally looking for someone who is extroverted and definitely look down upon people who are gamers for being ‘unsociable’ and etc which definitely isn’t me! Brisbane schools and the music/art/swimming issue. My nephew is getting the short end of the stick. Is this normal now?

I’ve got a nephew, he’s 8. At the family Christmas catch-up on Sunday there was a pool. He got in the pool and the best he could do was a doggy-paddle. This kid can’t swim. That’s a bit odd for being 8 and always having lived in Brisbane, right? I sat with him for a bit while he was eating cake and asked him about his school. They have swimming lessons for only one week in the year. The parents pay extra for it. His mum (parents aren’t together, mum has 90% custody) didn’t pay the $42 for his swimming lessons this year, but I know for a fact my brother send the money for it and bought the kid new togs and a towel. Anyone ever broke a lease before?

If so, how did your landlord take it? Moved in to a place a month ago and not really liking it. Signed a 6 month lease so I guess I’m stuck here til then but I don’t feel that I should live at my current place if I hate it. My housemates are some European guys who cook at 2am on weeknights and listen to music at 3am and aren’t compatible with me who works a 9-5 every week day. Any consequences to breaking the lease other than not getting my bond back? Looking for photos from Brisbane punk gigs from anytime around 2001 to 2007. Can anyone help?

Hey guys, I have been searching and searching and google is not helping me today. Basically I am looking for photos of Brisbane punk gigs (no particular bands, any will do, but anything from the old Gabba Hotel, Club Splurt would be amazing!) It’s mostly just for my own personal interest, as during that time I never took any photos or really kept anything. I have since lost touch with almost everyone from that scene and I would love to see some memories. Anyone from that era around who has anything to share? I am particularly interested in the Gabba Hotel as it no longer exists and I can’t seem to find any photos of the building itself, let alone gigs that took place there.
