Long story short – got some free tickets from a friend that works at a sponsor. Contemplating headin there solo this year just because why not. Anyone going that would e willing to adopt a straggler for a couple of hour? I’m pretty self sufficient just thinking it’ll be weird to go alone. submitted by /u/giraffestafarian [link] [comments]

Student Accommodation Experience: Urbanist | Iglu | UniLodge | Student One
Greetings ๐ I will be attending the Queensland University of Technology in February 2017 for my master degree doing International Business Management. My degree will be completed in 2 years. I have completed my bachelor degree in the same major in London, UK and now I am looking for options of accommodation in Brisbane. At the moment my current plan is to take a 12-month contract at the Iglu Brisbane City because of its location to QUT. For the second academic year, I would evaluate my situation if I want to look for shared housing or rent by myself. Does anyone have any experiences living at the following accommodations: Urbanest Southbank Iglu Brisbane City UniLodge on Margaret St Student One Do you have any comments/complaints/regrets? Did you love it or hate it? Was it overpriced? Where would you rather have lived given the chance to re-live your life? Suggestions for

Looking to make new friends.
So as the title says, I’d like to make some new friends in Brisbane, maybe a new social circle. I’m happy enough with my current group of friends. Its just a bit stale and routine and I struggle to make new friends just out of the blue. I’m a 26yr old professional guy, I live in a house that I own with a housemate (Moving out in 2 weeks) on the inner south/east side of Brisbane. I have two dogs I like board games I’ve got foxtel and netflix which I abuse constantly. Like video games, just dont have a lot of time for them. Like a social drinking session when the times right Like going out for dinners and breakfasts Not super keen on clubbing etc, but I can be convinced. So I guess pm me your name and maybe facebook? and we can setup a group chat and

Advice regarding breaking lease because of housemates?
Hey hey hey, So I’ve been living with some workmates from my old job for a while now – and I’m liking it less and less each day. Aside from the typical pettiness and bitchiness that comes with living with a group of people, there have been hints that one or two of them have been going through other people’s stuff and I’ve just caught them drinking my liquor and replacing it with water. Not the biggest deal but it’s indicative of not only a lack of respect, but that they have no qualms with stealing property. I can’t live with people I don’t trust. I’m on the lease, so what are my best options forward? I really don’t understand the rules at all. Thanks so much. submitted by /u/theromanianhare [link] [comments]

Visiting in March. Any recommendations on where to stay?
Hi all, A friend and I are planning a 3-week trip to Australia and we will be in Brisbane for a couple of days (08-10 March 2017 to be specific). Ideally, we’re hoping to find somewhere that’s close to everything – outdoors/nature stuff, nightlife, shopping, museums (maybe), beaches, etc. Any input would be helpful ๐ submitted by /u/dcr5f5 [link] [comments]
