Laser Blasting/Cleaning Hire

Hi all, I have a heap of metal tools and equipment that I want to clean up for use. In particular, I have a 500+kg steel table saw (it would be about 1m3 in volume by extents) that really needs some TLC. Being a bit time-poor I have been reasearching and trialling a bunch of cleaning techniques. Electrolysis is working well for the smaller stuff but it won’t be efficient for the table saw. Has anyone seen or heard of any business in the Brisbane area that hires out laser cleaning/blasting tech? I have found plenty that sell, but none that hire. I am not interested in sand or water blasting. submitted by /u/scisaacsmop [link] [comments]

Newbie rock climber

Hey lovely Brisbane people. I’m keen to try rock climbing again as I need a new activity in my life and would like to make new friends. Last time I did it I was about 12 and didn’t do too well. 16 years later I have more upper body strength and less fear. So where should this newbie go? I live in the inner-south so imagine that Urban Climb in West End is a good bet. Particularly as I have no gear so will need to rent it all. Apparently they also have a bouldering option, should I try that first? I know about the beginners course and am happy to try that but am also keen to get any better suggestions. Thanks all. submitted by /u/LadyoftheSouth [link] [comments]

Christmas Lights

So last night I went out to look at “some of the best” (4KQ/Courier Mail) Christmas lights and saw basically nothing. I was out from around 20:30 to 21:30. Do people not have them on after Christmas or turn them off before 9:00PM??? By far the best lights were the ones in my street. Everyone here has them on until at least 22:00 (and in general still have them on). submitted by /u/HSV_Guy [link] [comments]

Is 1 William Street Finished?

Hi all, I live on the south side of what my girlfriend calls “The Burrito Building” which means I have to look at the highest side (the underside of the tortilla) and it’s peak. I’ve noticed the windows just stop at the base of the triangular peak of the building. In fact they don’t stop at the base of the triangular rise (that would actually make sense) they stop a few flights up from the base of the triangle. Not only this but there are a couple of “bands” of windows (?) about 1/3 and 2/3 up the face of the triangle facing south. The top of the building looks unfinished, like the windows haven’t gone in yet. Yet I read that 1 William is indeed finished. I look at the concept images and I can see windows aren’t supposed to go to the top, but it sure doesn’t look

Places to bleach/dye hair that aren't super expensive

I’m a man with shortish hair and I was looking for somewhere where I could get my hair bleached and dyed. I have a hairdresser I normally go to, but I wanted to do something more experimental this time (like a blue or pink, something like that) and they don’t have the dye at hand. Price-wise I’m pretty flexible – looking for something up to $200 give or take a bit. Any help would be much appreciated. submitted by /u/VincentSparrion [link] [comments]

Best places for going out to party on NYE?

Hi All. First time celebrating in the city itself for New Years and I’m trying to find a good place to go and party to celebrate the new year. Got designated as the ‘find a place’ guy so I thought I’d consult you guys. All of us are in our early 20’s so looking for a bar/club that’s pretty trendy and for our age bracket. submitted by /u/VHSMasterRace [link] [comments]
