Queensland economy discussion thread. What are your thoughts
Where is the economy heading? What is not working? What are the opportunities? What should we be doing? [Please keep party politics out of the discussion. I don’t want to hear “labor this” or “liberal that” even if your views are aligned to one party’s agenda. Please just discuss without referring to parties and politicians.] submitted by /u/Gatoblanconz [link] [comments]
What is the bowling place like in Queen street like Friday night?
Partner and I are having our monthly date night this week and were thinking bowling given we will both be in the CBD and there is a bowling place there. How busy is it? submitted by /u/internetspacerock [link] [comments]

Where is Brisbane's UberEATS head office?
I want to deliver them a custom portfolio but can’t find the location. All I see on the Uber app is the location of a “Greenlight hub” in the Valley, but I don’t know if that’s a corporate office or just a processing office for people who want to be drivers. Does anyone know more about this? submitted by /u/insainsley [link] [comments]

QPS, want to make some easy money?
People are back at work and it means lots of people driving their cars into the city. Every single day I note the large amount of cars that block intersections aka “blocking the box”. The intersection of Leichhardt street and Little Edward and also (and more annoyingly) Turbot and Edward Streets are two I come across regularly. People usually turning into Edward from these cross streets end up not making it and sitting in the middle of the intersection. The lights change, and no one can move. Enraging! I note that entering a blocked intersection has a max penalty of 20 units (see Section 128 of the Transport Operations legislation). If a penalty unit value is still $121.90, QPS could be rolling in the dough if they had an officer sitting at these two intersections during morning peak hour. Usually I’m not a big fan of the excess policing, but
Save the date! Bushwalking meetup 21st of January at Elabana Falls
Hey all, so I made a post a little while ago gauging interest in a bushwalk, based on the responses a lot of you are keen to go. A few minor changes to the plan (mostly due to the heat). As it stands, this is the gameplan. 21st January, Saturday Lamington National Park, O’Reilly’s entry point specifically the Box Circuit with a needed stop at Elabana Falls. Meet up at the O’Reilly’s carpark at 8 AM and proceed from there (Big long windy road up the mountain). Sausages, bread, sauce will be supplied. I would advise to bring your own snacks (nuts, bars, etc) for the walk. BRING PLENTY OF WATER. Don’t forget the sunscreen. edit: Also, as swimming will be involved, don’t forget to bring a change of clothes if needed. The whole thing should take roughly 5 hours, depending how long we want to stay in the falls
PSA: Ferny Grove outbound train is stuck at Newmarket Station. Gonna be there a while!
Also don’t go anywhere near the level crossing, big traffic jam as the boom gates are stuck down too. submitted by /u/maximum_powerblast [link] [comments]
