Visiting and Airtrain Advice
Canadian here doing a month trip across Australia in March and the last two stops on my itinerary are Gold Coast and Brisbane. I have a question regarding how the Airtrain works. I arrive from Melbourne into BNE and then going directly to spend a few days in the Gold Coast before returning to Brisbane for a few days there. Using this website [https://airtrain.com.au/fare-calculator] it looks like you can take it right from the airport to Gold Coast but the only return option is from Gold Coast to the airport. Is it really worth it to take the Airtrain from Gold Coast to BNE and then head back into Brisbane or is there another way into Brisbane from the Gold Coast that doesn’t involve going to the airport? Who in Brisbane owns either a HTC Vive or an Oculus Rift and has Serious Sam VR?
I’m after a co-op partner to play the game with sometime as none of my friends have VR. I’ve joined the VR Brisbane club but membership is pending so I thought I’d post here. Doesn’t matter which headset both will work. submitted by /u/DaveJahVoo [link] [comments]
Everyone needs to visit the Inala civic centre.
I went there for the first time the other day and i was amazed. It’s the craziest place I’ve ever been in Brisbane. It’s pure, unadulterated culture. Check it out. submitted by /u/jordos [link] [comments]
Paid technical mentors wanted for The Lab which helps young people with Asperger's/HFA
Hi all, My name is Dylan and I help to run a technology club for young people with Asperger’s and High Functioning Autism called The Lab. We started a couple of years ago in Melbourne, and are now in 15 locations around the country and providing a great service working with hundreds of kids a week. We are currently looking for mentors for the Lab in Brisbane. Key to what we do is having good mentors – people who can look at a young person’s strengths and interests and lead them down a productive path. Many of our current mentors have been found through posts like this on Reddit. The sessions are 2 hours, Mondays and Wednesdays (4:30pm-6:30pm) or possibly on Saturdays. The pay is decent. The rewards are immense. It is an ideal position for an IT or gaming professional who is looking to give a little back. Please
