Brisbane public transport rant.

So recently Ive been catching a bus into the city because it’s not particularly practical to ride my motorbike in a suit in this heat. Having never had the privilege of experiencing the poor service offered by our transport system I am shocked and disappointed at how unreliable it is. Once I looked at the bigger picture I was even more annoyed when I saw that my 2.8km bus ride costs $3.80 each way! This is amongst the highest cost in Australia and also ranks as one of the higher costs worldwide. And for what? On average 2/5 services home a week that I attempt to take dont turn up. The drivers quite often miss peoples stops and even drive straight past people hailing the bus. (Dont give me the bullshit excuse that the bus is full, it was the wrong stop etc…its not). BEST Ribs ever, from a Food truck… help me find it again.

I took a group of guys to the Belmont Sporting Clays site in the last half of 2016, for our stag party reunion. We were surprised to find a food van there, serving ribs. Even more surprised that the ribs were easily the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve been searching for a long time). I can’t find the van’s details. HELP! Does anyone know the contact details for this food van, which was just being started up by this fellow who had recently arrived from the New Orleans area (I think), and was starting up his van and just settling into the food van set up. submitted by /u/Shirazdude [link] [comments]

Any good spots within a 90 minute drive where me and a mate could just escape for a night (not camping)?

We are just looking for a nice spot where we could just drive out and chill for a bit then just sleep over night (nothing gay going on). Something not public obviously and not camping grounds, just free and secluded with nice scenery. Would be sick, cheers. submitted by /u/Throwingawaysoon112 [link] [comments]

A helpful directory I can hand out to the homeless?

I work in the CBD and other than encountering my regular homeless guys, sometimes I get a bunch of newbies who ask for a hand-out. Of course I cant do much because it’s considered stealing on my part. Does anyone have a useful list of numbers and locations that they know for sure are useful and will help shelter and feed these peeps (in the CBD)? I pretty much want to have a print-out on hand that I can just give to someone who probably needs these services. submitted by /u/sunnymugs [link] [comments]
