Plumbing help – shower tap

So the hot water tap was leaking the other day in the shower. Replaced it without issue. Today the cold tap is leaking so I attempted to replace the washer in that. Everything seemed to be going ok however when the water is turned back on, and the shower is fully off, water still drips out and can clearly be heard running through the pipes. Fine, figured the taps are old, may as well replace them and the spindles. Went to Bunnings, got new taps and spindles (that are identical to the old ones), put them in, and exact same problem. Tap still leaks when the water is off. Any ideas? submitted by /u/Birdwithaface [link] [comments]

Staying in Brisbane for a month, what to see, what to do?

Just asking. Thanks! Some interests: Outdoors, video games, sports, bicycling (I looooove bicycling and will have a bike- do you guys have a velodrome? What about bike museums? You get the idea) steam trains, history (I love history), and all sorts of other stuff. You know, if you’ve ever shown an out-of-towner something they thought was the tits (or that you personally think is amazing/a great example of local Aussie culture) please please please, let me know what it is. I want to go! submitted by /u/wildtangent1 [link] [comments]

Anyone here proficient in the field of 4G routers?

Basically, I have ADSL2 through TPG due to being no other option in my area (underground power so no cable, no NBN forever here either) and the speeds are so terribly shit that if I want to download something, I have to kick it off at night after bedtime so that I can still use Netflix in HD. Anyway, long story short – Telstra hasn’t been metering my 4G for like 2.5 years so I want to take advantage of it while I have shitty home internet and am looking for a 4G gigabit router (or at least with one gigabit port that I can route into a switch) anyone got any tips on brands/models to look at or avoid? submitted by /u/oh_excuse_me [link] [comments]

PSA: Remember to lock your car at night

Just a friendly reminder to lock your car at night even in the drive way or carport. I made the mistake of accidentally leaving my car unlocked overnight in Greenslopes whilst it was parked under my carport at the front of house (My own stupid mistake). Thankfully all they made off with is some small change and some prescription glasses and prescription sunglasses. submitted by /u/Kussie [link] [comments]

Need some help with a motorcycle service shop in brisbane.

I asked them to provide me a quote prior to the work being done. They gave me no call prior to the commencement of work. I was advised it would take three hours when I called. When I went in and gave them my key they said it would be done in one business day. That was yesterday, it was booked in for a service today. I didn’t get a call so i contacted them today at 4pm and was told the manager was looking after it (that’s weird) and he would give me a call back. It got to 5:10pm with no call, they close at 5:30 so i drove out there to see them face to face, i got there at 5:23. Everyone was packing up and the service centre was closed but i managed to catch the manager before he left. The work is done minus two
