Live in Aspley need a retail/office/indoor job. Have some retail and some marketing experience. I am easy to train and get along well with most people. Not looking for ridiculous responsibilities, just looking for something to earn some cash. Currently in a “Job Seeker” period in centerlink so they will pay $10k of my annual wage which probably makes me as cheap as a 16yro for a full time-position. Recommendations for whirlybird installer?
No not a helicopter. The spinning things that draw heat out of the roofs of Queenslanders. I’ve got a hot zincalume roof and the cheap foil insulation is not enough. Any tips or tricks? Before next summer I’ll look at better insulation but can’t afford that right now. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/notinferno [link] [comments]
Your thoughts on student housing in Brisbane?
I’m doing a small project for my Masters program and am wondering what your thoughts are on student housing. While Brisbane is ranked as the 18th best city globally for students, it is of course far from perfect. This can be things like UniLodge, share houses or on campus accommodation. Some points to consider are proximity of housing to university, what you think desirable accommodation looks like, cost and the role of the university in student housing. Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated, thanks! submitted by /u/grockhard [link] [comments]
What are the advantages of going to the Ten Brisbane Rugby Globals? I won Gold tickets. Will there be any prematch entertainment? What will be going on apart from Rugby? Will there be cheerleaders? I cannot find a program apart from the game schedule.

Best fast food joint in Brisbane?
Inspired by the earlier ‘Worst fast food joint in Brisbane’. I will say my fave is PJ Steaks in the West End – I’ve never had a better cheesesteak and I can wash it down with delicious American cream soda (loads of varieties), also service is always good and fast. Best dessert – ice cream from La Macelleria in Tenerife, no competition there it is just incredible. Best ice cream ive ever tasted and I’ve been to Italy. Also owned by some lovely Italian guys, what’s not to love? submitted by /u/everybodyctfd [link] [comments]
Finding Brisbane Musicians
Has anyone had much success meeting/finding musicians for jams? I’ve been looking to do something for a while. If anyone has any decent avenues to look down to meet musicians it would be awesome to know! submitted by /u/iamthewoodwork [link] [comments]
Recently moved to Brisbane and I have a few questions and statements…
Hey guys, I love it here after moving from Melbourne at the start of the year but I really didn’t realise how different it would be. I have a few questions that I’m going to spam in here so hopefully a few of you can help me. I don’t have any friends or family here so if anyone has groups that do fun activities please let me know and I would love to try them out! First, I have an Australian cattle dog, 6mo, that I want to continue training and socialising. In melbourne there was massive training days that were not for profit on Sundays in certain areas and you basically just make a gold coin donation to go along whenever you want. Is there anything like that here? Otherwise does anyone know of any obedience classes that are great and focus on reward rather than punishment or dominance?
How to legally/safely power something like this?
https://youtu.be/WFOo_v7G4jE?t=4m22s So I’d like to make a (much smaller scale) control panel similar to this but I’m a bit unsure as to what’s legal or not regarding DIY electrical work. I also don’t want to kill myself. Could I use something like a computer or laptop PSU to drive a shitload of LEDs? submitted by /u/helpmenotdieplz [link] [comments]
