24 F4R Looking to meet people for
Hey there, My name is Kristeen, and I’m a Melbourne born girl recently moved here to Brisbane for Uni. I’ve had a lot of luck back home in Melbourne meeting friends who share a lot of common interests with me, and I’d thought, why not put up a post while I’m new in town. I’m a bit quirky in terms of hobbies, but I’ll list a few: Playing music (@kristeentheguitargirl on Instagram), rollerblading, playing video games, and, learning about anything and everything. I saw that I just missed a Reddit meetup in Brisbane. But perhaps I can persuade a handful of you guys to show me a good place to grab a beer. Anyone on here free Saturday night? 🙂 submitted by /u/wiggilysquiggily [link] [comments]

Need advice on dealing with a super tall tree in neighbours yard
So neighbour has a 20m+ tall tree that could take out 4 houses from their yard depending on the direction it fell. Its also got a webee kettle bbq size termite nest up in it that has been damaging the nearby residences. The roots from the tree have been damaging the concrete in various yards. The owner of the property refuses to do anything about it as it was apparently planted by the council back in the 70’s before they bought the place. This is in MBRC. So talking to them doesn’t work, what other options are there? submitted by /u/pinkbits [link] [comments]
How important is your GPA/university you go to when trying to apply for jobs/internships?
I’m currently studying commerce at UQ, majoring in accounting and finance. Up until the start of this year, I was having personal issues that have affected my studies greatly. To say the least, my current GPA is fucked. In the past month, I’ve been really wanting to get my head back in the game. With a bit over 3 semesters left to go, ideally I would like to graduate at UQ and am willing to work extra hard from here on out, but am also considering transferring to QUT to “reset” my GPA. So what I want to know is: is there any way to save my GPA? How important is your GPA/academic transcript when looking for internships/jobs? How much does the university you graduate at matter? Is there a difference in graduating with a bachelor of “commerce” degree as opposed to “business”? I also changed degrees once and transferred
