I’m looking at applying for university next year in my 30s due to an injury forcing me into a career change. I’m still undecided on what to pursue but looking towards Engineering(Civil maybe), IT(Network/Security) as well as Justice. Has anyone also applied solely based of workplace experience? I’ll probably do the STAT test but if i can get away without having to do it i will. submitted by /u/Consurgent [link] [comments]

Car insurance renewal issue…
Hey all, Long story short: I got rear ended in June the 3rd party has taken complete blame and my car is repaired I paid no excess etc. Issue: I have received letter for renewal and I was really unhappy with the way they handled the claim. But they’re saying I HAVE to renew because this claim from June is still open because the money hasn’t been fully recovered from the 3rd party. So due to this they’re forcing me into a renewal. Does this sound right to anyone? Anyone got any experience with this? Sounds dodgy as fuck to me. My contract ends with them with the policy surely they can’t force a renewal. What would happen if I decided to not drive and just sold my car for example. submitted by /u/mrleetyler [link] [comments]

Where can I drive without a licence?
So…I’m in my early 30s, have always used public transport, and I’ve never driven a car. (Okay, once around a parking lot). When I was a teen, I had interest, by my parents shouted me down and I let it go, and learned to love/hate buses and trains. Now they’re encouraging me to get my learners, and I’m less-than-convinced – mostly because I feel that I’m ten or so years behind where I should be, and therefore will always be behind the curve of skill and confidence compared to where I would be if I had started as a teen. Is there anywhere I can drive – car park, private lot, main roads centre, etc – without a licence? I don’t want to go to the trouble and expense of going through the process of getting my learners, only to find out that as soon as I sit in a

Anyone gone from cable to NBN?
I’m 10km from the CBD on Optus cable and it’s been fine most of the time. I’m getting 17mbps down, right now over wi fi, and 0.2 upload which is whatevs for domestic use, I guess. Started receiving letters saying “Guess what?! You’re getting NBN! Sign up to our shit, it’s the fastest shit. Get on our unlimited shit plan!” But I’m sceptical, and the plans are $10-$20 per month more expensive than we are currently paying. Any first hand experience out there? I only seem to read about ADSL users getting boned on upgrades, and not much about whether cable users suffer. Cheers submitted by /u/mightybonk [link] [comments]

Interview skills
Dear Redditors of Brisbane, I’m a full time employee in a small not-for-profit company and I have been thinking of leaving but first I would love to get my interview skills up as I have been in the same job for almost four years and I haven’t had to worry about my interview skills for a while. Is there anywhere in Brisbane that does skilling up of interview skills for full time employees? Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/haineko1988 [link] [comments]
Any WorkCover employees here?
Hey I recently applied for a role at WorkCover and have and interview this week. I want to do some interview prep to make sure I’m all up to date and confident in my interview strategy. The role I’ve been extended an interview offer for is a customer advisor. The as I applied via didn’t really have a role description for it. I met the criteria in the as though. My background is in claims management within a group life insurer with specialisation in complex, terminal illness, and concurrent condition claims. I managed claims from initial assessment, through approval or decline, to return to work and closure. So basically what I’m looking for is if I could get a PD for the role so I can tailor responses to interview questions. Or just pick your brains about the role. Long shot but thought I’d give it a go. submitted by
