When I lived in Canberra, large retailers routinely open until midnight. Sydney has 24 hour Kmarts and such. Why does the QLD gov restrict trading hours so much? The dfo woolies is 24hr because it’s in federal land and not bound by the qld gov limitations. What’s wrong with late trading? submitted by /u/PoopstarFiretruck [link] [comments]

Just had a break in
At Spring Hill. My housemates bag got stolen and there’s transactions on her card. My bike is also gone, it looks like this (sorry for potato quality) but the wheels have been changed for black ones with less spokes and the handlebar tape is now purple, and I think I changed the seeat to a white one, but the frame is the same. Text on the side says Merida. The frame is a fairly old carbon fibre tube type. We’re going to file a police report, but in the meantime if anyone sees the bike chuck let me know. It’s a long shot but you miss all the shots you don’t take. submitted by /u/Turksarama [link] [comments]

I've felt lately this part of Brisbane is often overlooked and doesn't get the exposure it deserves.

I used to work a Red Rooster store that wasn't listed in the current investigation and I can guarantee the same thing is happening at that store too.
The franchisee and his brother own a number of stores, I can’t remember exact numbers but it’s more than 10. I am 100% certain they are underpaying employees at the store I worked at, and would be very surprised if it wasn’t happening at the rest of them too. I’m so done with bosses taking advantage of foreign workers, I never eat at Red Rooster and encourage anyone I know to avoid it as well. submitted by /u/ItsaMeMattio [link] [comments]
Long Shot: Places to on Good Friday in City/surrounding areas?
Hey r/brisbane, I’m fortunate enough to be taking someone out on Good Friday -> but I’m really not sure what do to. Will there be ANY nice bars open in the city (along lines of Brooklyn Standard, The Gresham… etc)..? We’re both keen to have a few drinks but I’m afraid it will be difficult with the no-alcohol-without-food law on GF. Back-up plan would be grabbing a bottle of champagne and making a platter going to southbank, but I’d rather that as a last resort… Any ideas/knowledge of what will be open? submitted by /u/edward6009 [link] [comments]
