question for the technologically advanced, regarding two types of internet in the home

I work from home, i wont bore you with the details about that but i already have telstra cable broadband.. its fast and works ok for me.. and i use lots of streaming videos and “live” scoring feeds for my job. my question is this.. i cant get a static IP address with it.. god knows why. but i can with the much slower and less reliable ADSL2+. i have been told i cannot have both in my house at the same time, via one company or two. Is this right, and if i could have it put in alongside my cable…. How easy or hard is it to switch over.. like if im doing work using cable broadband and im asked to cover something that needs a static IP.. can i just flip over to the adsl2+ to use for a static IP (would mean having BOTH internet cables

Spammer phone calls

I keep receiving calls from an Auckland number +64 9 557 4617. I keep letting it go through to the keeper usually, however last night I actually answered it, quickly cutting the person off on the other side of the line after her speel and asked them not to call me again. However, I had some concerns, because when she finished her speel, she asked if I was driving, I answered, ‘yeah, don’t call me again” and promptly they hung up. My concern is that they are one of those spam calls where they record you answering the phone and answering a basic question, then go to sign you up over the phone to numerous things. Wondering if someone has dealt with this kind of spammer before. submitted by /u/adamh707 [link] [comments]

I miss you Brisbane, oh so much.

I miss the subtropical weather, knowing that you barely ever need to leave the house with even a jumper or an umbrella. I miss paying $130 a week for a massive sized room in a good sized Queenslander in East Brisbane. I miss being able to drive to see all of my mates from high school and uni within a short drive, and actually being able to find a park when I get there. I miss my family, who were there for anything, any time I needed it, even if it were only to be treated to some homestyle cooking for a while. I miss the Brown Snake, enjoying a cycle along the concourse or a ride on the City Cat. I left for good reason in 2013, to travel Europe and enjoyed my time in the alps in France and living a fast paced lifestyle in the city in
