Need a bulk-biling GP in Mt Gravatt area

I’m tired of paying $50 (after medicare rebate) for a 5 minute annual blood pressure check + cholesteral order, then paying $50 two days later to hear that there are no issues with the test results. Seriously – $100 for 5 minutes of ‘face time’. It’s a rort. I’m looking for a bulk biller that can get me in, take my blood pressure and ship me out for whatever pissy amount the bulk billing service fee is. And when I get genuinely sick – eventually – then I’ll book a real appointment and pay a fair fee out of pocket. Any recommendations? submitted by /u/Togfox [link] [comments]

"I've Been to Expo Too" — Trying to find a recording…

I’m looking for a parody of Redgum’s “I’ve Been to Bali Too” from the 1988 Expo. I think it’s by Baz and Blue, supposedly a radio DJ duo. Has anyone even heard of this? There is no trace left of it on youtube. It is a song satirizing the giant deal everyone was making about the Brisbane World Expo. I did however find this political song from the time there. Any help would be grateful as a random American. The record appears to have been on ebay a few times in the last decade. submitted by /u/TrumpSavesLives [link] [comments]

Privacy and digital rights event with Nicolas Suzor this Tuesday

I’ve been posting a few privacy events here over the last year or so. For this one we were lucky enough to get Nicolas Suzor. Nicolas is a very busy person, he’s the legal lead of Creative Commons Australia, he leads a program of research in digital law at QUT, and is a founder of Digital Rights Watch. Nicolas is speaking about the landscape of digital law in Australia and what his organisation – “Digital Rights Watch” plans are for the rest of 2017. event on meetup.com What do you think? I know a lot of redditors care about privacy and are not fans of the government messing around with laws like metadata retention. But sometimes it seems like everyone’s working against us, government, business, media, even former tech startups like Google and Facebook. In comparison the other side is poorly resourced, overworked individuals with full time jobs and families.
