Employment after returning from overseas (August)
So I’ve got a bit of an issue ahead of me. I’m going overseas in July for a month but this is also the time my lease expires. I’m currently living with 2 dudes but am basically over shared living having done it for nearly 6 years now and am planning on getting my own place within the first few weeks once I get back (not sure where I’m staying during that time yet) Currently I’m underemployed and studying. My shit kicker retail job is giving me 4 hours per week and there’s no way for me to get more since we have too many staff. I need another 6+ hours a week to be good, but my problem is I’ve had absolutely no luck finding anything since December and now I’m hoping places in Brisbane will be hiring around August. Does anyone have any ideas of places that
Broadband in West End?
Anyone in a West End apartment that can post their building name, and how good their net is, I’d appreciate it. I found this page which shows TPG fibre as only having been connected to one building there (8 Musgrave st), but I’m not sure how up-to-date it is. And yeah, I’d much rather avoid Telstra if at all possible. The plague would be more fun than signing up to them again. Cheers. submitted by /u/untiljune [link] [comments]

POTS Syndrome Sufferers?
Hi, I have recently been diagnosed with POTS Syndrome. I am a 31 yr old female from Sunshine Coast. Given it is such a little known condition even trying to find Doctors who have an understanding of it is incredibly difficult. I’d love to get to know some other POTS sufferers and hear about their journey and what they have learnt. Please message me if you have or know of anyone with POTS. Thanks 🙂 submitted by /u/potsiegirl [link] [comments]

Enough is enough – rant directed at 'tin shakers', 'fundraising backpackers', 'commercial beggars'…
What the hell is happening? I feel as though the fundraising and commercial begging is just getting out of hand. A few thoughts. First, if you are wanting to be credible and raise money for a certain cause, don’t just shake a bin at me and also dont twirl your fucking ipad around and point at me from the other side of Anzac Square. Second, I literally do not expect that there is capacity for people to donate or sign up for fund giving this often. World Vision, Something Children, Cancer This, Save That….. one day after the next, the people of Brisbane surely are immune to this shitty technique by now? That said, the only one that has got to me happened recently, when this british backpacker raising funds for kids jumped in front of me on Queen St and said – “You have eyes like the ocean”. Bold
Couple of Canadians looking for some new friends!
Hello everyone! My partner and I just moved to Brisbane recently and are finding it pretty difficult to make new friends in a brand new city/country, and we’re hoping someone might have some advice or want to hang out with us. 🙂 I’m Kelsey, and I’m 23 years old and graduated with a degree in Microbiology last year, and Mike is 25 and also just received his degree in Psychology. We’re both really easy going and friendly and have a pretty laid back lifestyle, but also enjoy going out on the weekend for a few beers (why is beer so expensive here!?). Interests include going on road trips and adventures/hikes, movies, music/concerts, video games (the new Zelda is amazing if anyone was wondering), and just general hanging out. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks everybody! submitted by /u/-kezzle [link] [comments]
