A curious phone call from a janitor.

This morning I received a missed call on my mobile with a voice to text message along the lines of “Mitch, the is Aaron from Uni-Resort calling about your TimeOut Internet account” “What a strange message” Was my immediate thought. To give you some context; Uni-resort is a student accommodation complex in Mt Gravatt. TimeOut Internet is the company they contract to provide internet to the residents. To make sense of why the janitor is calling me about my internet account; we need to go back around 8 months. My first day at the place, I connected to the wifi, purchased 10GB of data and I was on my way. A few days later, my data was all gobbled up. Best internet/mobile provider?

I was trying to sign up with Optus but it has been a disaster and I am ready to pull the plug (story to follow)… who should I use for internet and mobile in Brisbane? Looking for unlimited/10gb per month, respectively. My Optus experience… I signed up for internet on April 28 and was told within 5 business days an installation appointment would be scheduled. Nothing happened in that timeframe so I contacted Optus via live chat to resolve the issue. After 6… SIX live chats I was told that I had singed up for a self install and that my package would arrive within a week. Two days later Optus phoned to schedule my installation date, which is now a full month after I ordered it. Meanwhile, my prepaid phone plan was running out of data because I was tethering to my laptop while I waited for my internet

Glownet Currency Rip-off (Stones Corner Festival)

Did anyone else get along to see Regurgitator at the Stones Corner Festival the other week (30th April)? As a long time fan I was ecstatic to see them live for the first time and had a great time at the festival. Regurgitator’s performance was of the best live gigs I’ve seen in a long long time. To purchase food and drink at the event, one had to load up a contactless payment card called Glownet. I was in the queue for that thing at least 30mins, and to avoid getting back into a queue to top back up if I went low, I put on way more than I needed. Good food

Hi all I’m looking for the best gourmet food market/deli on the Southside. I’ve been after things such as unique ingredients such as finger limes, edible flowers, etc but can’t seem to find a ‘one stop shop’. Also I frequent Dutton Park Fish market for my sashimi grade salmon, but do you know of anything other fish markets that might have kingfish? Can never seem to find it! TransLink Woes

Any advice is appreciated. I loaded $20 via Eftpos on Saturday (onto my card on one of the machines) and no funds were added but it was deducted from my bank account, so I had to put another $10 on just so I could get to where I needed to be. I called them first thing on Monday only to be told I would need to provide a statement from my bank, I get why they do this but my bank only issues two statements a year so I don’t know any way to provide proof of purchase (they won’t accept screenshots) and help would be appreciated.
