A rant about the Cleveland line train in the arvo.

Caught this train the other day…. crazy crowded, to the point of uncomfortable lack of personal space…. Anyway…. An MP from Capalaba (from memory) seemed to be taking a QR Exec (maybe Nick Easy?) and Jackie Chad to show them what it was like…. They got on the first carriage (perhaps the quietest?)…. at…. Coorparoo (where it feels like about 1/3 of the passengers get off) and rode it to….Norman Park. As they got off they say, “I think we get the picture”. Sadly, what they got what was by no means “the picture”. I felt sorry for the MP (pretty sure it was Don Brown), as he’d clearly aimed to show the raise the concerns of his region, but seriously, Coorparoo to Norman Park is like a 2 minute ride, and at that point, it’s busy, but a reasonable busy. Goddamn QR…

I dont think the Cleveland to city morning train has been on time even once this week. Today there were some massive delays and cancelled services which resulted in myself along with many other commuters being late. I wish QR could at the very least run its trains on time. submitted by /u/yelloyo1 [link] [comments]

Best place to donate items direct?

I have a whole heap of DVDs (movies and series) and books (reference and general interest) I’ll probably never use again. They’re perfectly fine (and interesting enough), and I thought they could go to use rather than being thrown out. Any idea of where to donate these that they could go straight to the consumers/needy? Like a community resource centre or something? Any other donation tips more than welcome. TIA. submitted by /u/ExWifeofBath [link] [comments]
