Emergency phones at train stations. Why do they beep?

Does anyone know this? I often find it at Norman Park station. I’ll be walking through the underpass or waiting on platform 1 and the emergency phone will make a loud noise. I’ve even heard it come from the one in the carpark (although never from platform 2). I’ve often wondered if it’s someone watching me on the cameras or something… stupid I know. submitted by /u/Paxxer87 [link] [comments]

Moving to Brisbane – what suburbs/neighbourhoods do ya recommend?

Hi, I’m moving to Brisbane in a month and looking for anywhere central (within 3/4kms of CBD) and planning to spend about $200/ $250 a week max for a share house, maybe slightly more for my own place if possible. Any advice on suburbs and letting companies to go to, or avoid? I won’t have a car straight away so probably good public transport is advisable. I basically just want to live somewhere that has some life instead of empty plastic suburbia devoid of life, pubs, shops. Cheers! submitted by /u/jjffx [link] [comments]
