Would Recommend: PowerShop (electricity company)

Just thought I’d add something here, because every time I google PowerShop, there are a slew of reviews that are not consistent. And I totally get why now. I moved to PowerShop from AGL about a month and a bit ago, after they became available in Brisbane. AGL were putting up prices, and fucking up the environment. PowerShop offered the perfect alternative for renters who can’t get solar panels. They buy UN carbon offsets for the electricity you buy! Kinda sweet, get some moral high ground at the pub, encourage renewables development. But then when I transferred, my bill shot right up. Almost quadrupled. I fucked up, turns out this is a service where you have to pay BEFORE you use it. Dumb ass me (and apparently a lot of other people) did not realise this. Any real estate agents that can offer any insights?

Is there a time limit in which real estates/owners are required to accept or deny a rental application? Applied for a property over a week ago. I am told I am the only applicant, I work full time and get a decent income but am also a single mum with 2 dogs. The property is not available until next month some time. Are they just waiting around for a better application? submitted by /u/vee-eye-sea [link] [comments]

Anniversary tomorrow!

Hey all, I’ve done the hard yards of organizing a babysitter for my wife and I to go out tomorrow night. I had in mind going ice skating but all the places around here say closing at 3pm tomorrow, and its too late to call to check. Any ideas for a mid 30s couple to go out that doesnt involve food and drink and within 10km of the Gabba – we do enough of that! Something that doesnt involve sightseeing and something that we just enjoy our time together like we don’t have kids? Edit: I have about $150 saved excluding taxis and about 3 hours to spend it. submitted by /u/Music_Is_Crap [link] [comments]
