So after 11 years in “office” work I woke up the other morning and decided I wanted to persue a career in (any form of) Security. Has anyone else just completely changed their career and started in the Security career? What’s your experiences? I’m fully aware the hours are going to be shit and all over the place, I’m just over sitting on a PC for 9 hours a day, then going home and wanting to game but can’t be bothered because I’ve already been sitting on a PC all day. I’ve really lost my passion for gaming lately because of this. Back when I was in high school I wanted to join the Police force, however due to bad eyesight in one of my eyes it ruled that option out for me, so I figured Security would be the next best thing for me. I’ve got a small end

Bit of an odd question revolving around the 4074 kerbside pickup
Hey, I’m trying to out-source some cheap computer components for a “junkyard PC” my friend and I are trying to build as a competition. I was wondering if anyone around Mt Ommaney Shopping Center is putting out or has seen a PC that was brought between 2006-present and can: Turn on and function to a specific point, preferably up to the OS but as long as it turns on and won’t blow up, that’ll do. I mainly just need the PSU. (24 pin) Obviously, if you’ve seen it and don’t know anything about it, you won’t know. But I’ll go take a look. Drop down your answers/addresses. If you don’t feel comfortable, flick me a pm. If you think I’m just going to break in, check my previous posts (please not my history 😉 and you’ll see that I don’t exactly pose a threat. I’m only 16. 🙂 submitted by
What is that godawful smell at Fortitude Valley Station
I’m not referring to the general reek that pervades our lovely Valley, but I swear the platform 3/4 area smells more like a sewer than it does a train station. Has anyone else noticed or am I just having a very weird hallucination? submitted by /u/Startingout12345 [link] [comments]
Does getting a replacement license get you a new license number?
Not renewing your driver’s license, but requesting a replacement. submitted by /u/ZodiacSF1969 [link] [comments]
How friendly are the Taxi Drivers?
This is a silly question and I feel silly for having to ask this but how friendly/lenient are the taxi drivers here? I have to get to the airport for my flight back to Canada tomorrow and I’m afraid I may be between $5-10 short based on the Taxi Fare Calculator In your experiences how kind are they to issues like this? EDIT Thanks to all the friendly people here I’ve decided to use the train. You are all super kind people and I loved this city! Thank you all so much submitted by /u/DubstepTheNightAway [link] [comments]
We should start invoicing the QLD government.
Over the past decade traffic has increasingly become worse and it is obviously due to a large increase in population. One would think more cars on the road would lead to cheaper rego, however it goes up every other year. They keep building more and more houses and developing large areas of land, which in turn generates them a huge income. Some of the main roads have had very little spent on them in comparison to the increase in traffic. 5 years ago my 20 minute trip home has become 40+. It isn’t getting any shorter either, as time progresses everything is getting more expensive. Tolls, rego and fuel. I understand some people spend 1-2 hours on the road. In 5 years time that can be 50% more, who knows. I know it won’t be less. The worse the traffic, the higher the house value prices closer to the city,
What's the cheapest flight to Europe you've seen?
Partner and I are planning on going to Europe for two weeks in August/September, our plan is to spend a week wherever the cheapest return flights take us, and then a week on the Dalmatian coast. I reckon 1200 return to Rome is pretty cheap but wanted to know what types of deals you lovely people have found! submitted by /u/La-la-lara [link] [comments]

Anyone know the answer to this local knowledge question?
A friend told me that Adelaide is hotter than Brisbane but I think he failed to take into account the humid weather in Brisbane. Then he told me that Melbourne is too cold and Brisbane is perfect about 20-29 degrees. I think he also failed to take into account the sun and humid weather. Auckland is really humid too and the sun is really intense. Christchurch is really hot and intense sun because the ozone layer is broken there. But he told me it was cold. People from Sydney just don’t understand how humid Brisbane is. I’d say 11 months of the year we are humid and in winter you don’t notice it. I have a friend in Alaska right know and I’m very jealous but a friend from Canada told me he would die for 20-29 degrees but I told him if he’s wearing more than a pair of
Owning a Snek
Ok, so its a little left field, but I am quite interested in the idea of owning a snake (like, not a huge python, or a killer machine, or a scary one, or one with red demon eyes), particularly of a type that is likely to be ok with hand raising/contact. I am moving into an apartment in the city soon and thought this might be an ok “pet”. Just wondering if any of you out there are snake owners, who might have a few tips on getting started, common mistakes or misconceptions and more importantly things to look out for or consider when owning a snake? submitted by /u/Startingout12345 [link] [comments]
