Telstra policy: when is TIO complaint necessary/vaild?

I’m on a cable plan with Telstra at $90/mnth. I’m moving but found out there is only Telstra ADSL1 (not 2) available at new place due to no free ports in the exchange. Optus says they can do ADSL2 though. Telstra won’t let me out of my contract without penalty since they can provide “at least 2Mbps”. But I still get to pay full price for a super downgrade. I have 1.5 years left on contract. Break fee is $270+. Their reps can’t seem to tell me where in the T&Cs it says they can get away with this: ie. downgrade and charge full price. Is this a case for the Ombudsman? thanks submitted by /u/marmiteMate [link] [comments]

Any Suggestions re Cost to Build a Carport

Hi Reddits, I’ve had plans drawn up to build a carport in front of our Queenslander. I’m Eastern Suburbs (around Coorparoo/Norman Park). We’ve gone for a basic design, not closed in, no garage door etc. Has anyone been through the process and could they suggest a budget? Further, could anyone recommend a builder who would be able to provide a quote? submitted by /u/gordon-freeman-bne [link] [comments]

Wanting to learn Japanese

Hi all, I’m headed to Japan next year, and have been wanting to pick up Japanese again for a while now. Does anyone have any recommendations for the best way to go about this? I’ve tried a few of those language apps, but its not really sticking, and I think I’d benefit from going and doing a class rather than depending on an app on my phone. Any help is appreciated. submitted by /u/Sgt_Croissant [link] [comments]

Career Counsellors

Hey guys. Does anyone have a line on any good careers counsellors in Brisbane? Preferably the northside area but open to travel. Basically I don’t want someone who is going to try and sell me on some BS course they receive a kickback for getting someone to sign up. Even just any good counselors who give good advice on career changes and that. Thanks. submitted by /u/DrVavy [link] [comments]
