Cheaper rent further from the CBD vs. Increased public transport costs?

Hello! I’ll be moving to Brisbane soon and was weighing up my options in terms of rent and transport costs in different suburbs. I’ll be commuting to the CBD each day and was wondering whether it’s better to live closer for higher rent but cheaper transport or vice versa? Any recommendations or input would be great! submitted by /u/DAWirepa [link] [comments]

My dog was attacked by off leash dogs

Just wanted to put out a warning and ask for advice about what happened this arvo. Two big dogs, maybe bull mastiff/bull Arab mix, were off lead with their owner on the football field outside of Staffords dog park. They were in the centre of the field while I was on the outside with me dog. They ran across to us as his owner shouts that they won’t hurt him while they start attacking my dog (9 months old) leaving him with cuts across his face. After pulling them off and him shouting them back I yell to put a lead on them and he says “I will” in a way that seemed as if he was angry at me. He did not apologise or offer any assistance. I saw that he did not put a lead on them and left after a minute or two. What should I do

TIFU

It was 9:00 pm, I was passing through an exit off the highway going 80km around the bend, the speed zone was 60km, As I was hitting the straight, I slowed down to 60km and stopped at the lights. When lights were green I went about 63km +/- 3 km/s for about 200m and past some policemen with speed guns. What are the chances that they didnt catch me going 80 during that little bend? Or would they not count that since I stopped at the lights. ggwp. . . submitted by /u/Danryu- [link] [comments]

Howling Dogs

Hey /r/Brisbane hope you’re having a great Thursday. Just after some advice, the house behind mine has 4 dogs, all who bark and howl all day everyday just about. It starts as early as 4am some mornings. Myself and another neighbour have reported it to the council several times each and she has also logged barking times in a diary to send to council. Nothing has been done so far. I then went and spoke to the dog owner and just let them know it was getting out of control, nicely of course. The owner wasn’t rude but nothing has been done and the howling continues. What’s my next steps? How can I have a good sleep in again? Thanks submitted by /u/kaj89 [link] [comments]
