Who (or what) needs volunteers?

I’ve suddenly found myself with a whole lot of spare time and would like to use some of it to help out the community. What’s an organization around Brisbane that may need another set of hands? Oh but hopefully not somewhere that’s filled with old people… I’d like to meet some new people around the 20 – 35 ages And no I’m not volunteering to wash your car or mow your lawn submitted by /u/maybeyourgranddaddy [link] [comments]

Need some advice regarding road rules

Hey there Brissy, I’m from the UK and I’d like to believe myself a competent driver but today a gave me a bit of a shake on the way Brisbane’s road rules work. All in all, you guys drive pretty much the same way back home apart from the sheer number of lanes you have, which then lead to lane choice regrets when “keeping left out of politeness for other road users.” I’ll raise my hands if I’m wrong here, so if it seems like I’m out of line please feel free to correct me and I’ll take it as constructive criticism (foreigner in a foreign country). Driving along Enoggera road heading towards the ICB, it’s clear that it’s rush hour at 8:45am. A bus ahead has pulled in to it’s bay and dropping/picking people up. Between me and the next car there’s about a 2 second window I like

Thinking of studying abroad in Australia

Hello r/brisbane! I’m from Indiana University and am interested in studying abroad within your incredible city. I have never visited Australia or Oceania in general, however I am quite intrigued with the region. Currently I study Informatics, similar to Computer Science. I was curious which unis have the best student culture and which one would be the best for an international student. Here are the unis I’m interested in: Queensland University, Queensland Institute of Technology, University of Melbourne, Monash University, University of Adelaide, University of Wollongong I understand the last four unis are not remotely close to Brisbane but my university has a direct partnership with them so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. submitted by /u/basedrew [link] [comments]

Laundered shirts in Brisbane Coorparoo/Morningside/Carina/Bulimba

Any dry cleaners around Coorparoo/Morningside/Carina/Bulimba do 5 shirts for a reasonable price? I used to pay $10 for 5 shirts at Coorparoo Hildas but since they got bought out the service went to shit (looks like they fired everyone and moved actual cleaning to a central warehouse offsite) and bumped the price of each shirt to $3.80. Happy to even pay $3 if they do pickup/delivery. Cheers submitted by /u/noes_oh [link] [comments]
