Question about beaches in Queensland (away from Brisbane)

I know that Brisbane doesn’t have any beaches at all (not counting the swimming pool with sand at South Bank). Are you allowed to have a fire at the beach? Because in North Queensland they seem to be able to It’s one of the top stories on Reddit right now. Earth Porn has a photo of a North Queensland beach with a fire lit. http://www.reddit.com/r/EarthPorn/comments/6gc78y/north_queensland_dawn_this_morn_5760_x_3840/ But I know that at the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast this is prohibited. Right? And at the Stradbroke Island (about 1.5-2 hours by car and ferry in traffic from Brisbane?). The locals don’t allow fires do they? But they allow them in North Queensland or was it for the PR tourism photo in the Sub? Please help me clear this up because I thought they were banned everywhere in Queensland. The beaches in North Queensland have some sand, some coral, but swimming is dangerous.

Seeking strangers for a Sunday game session

I’m a visitor who loves playing games with random strangers. I have the DC deck building game, star Realms, love letter and Lucha Jefe although I’m open to suggestions if you want to bring your own also a switch with 4 controllers if you prefer that option I have Mario Kart Binding of Isaac and Puyo Puyo Tetris Now while I say seeking strangers should any of the 3 people I know in this town happen to glance at this ad you are more than welcome. I’m free most of the day I’ll be spending most of it hanging around the Brisbane Convention center but am not really bound there. I was thinking we could go somewhere with indoor public tables like a food court or the ones in front of the convention hall somewhere public and visible in case you’re worried I’m going to be some kind of freak.
