can you guys tell me what it's like to live in Brisbane compared to Sydney? or just what it's like to live in brisbane in general? (cross-post from /r/sydney )

Hey. I’m an international student planning to study in Aus. I’ve got accepted to unsw and qut. The programs I applied for are pretty similar so I’m trying to search for other stuff to help me choose where to go. so like the title, I want to know if there are big differences between living in sydney and brisbane. or just what it’s like to live in brisbane/aus in general/ or any tips for an asian international student. Also if anybody can give me a non academic comparison of unsw and qut that would be great. submitted by /u/PM_ME_GAME_CODES_plz [link] [comments]

Need help learning a new game

Hi visitor to your fair city and I’m looking for someone to play a game or two tonight with so I can nail the rules before I have to go home and try and teach my folks. I love playing with strangers but don’t have the budget to go out to any of the gaming bars so was hoping I could find someone here. The game is Star realms a two player deck building game that the box says takes twenty minutes to play(though I’m guessing double that for a learning game) that saidI also have a copy of the DC deck building game with me should I be able to tempt any out with that one. I’m gonna be at the Madman Anime fest all day(happy to play anyone there as well but won’t have the DC one there) but will be available after 5ish(I think) I can’t host

Recommendations on upper end restaurants in Brisbane

Looking for a higher end restaurant with quality food (will happily pay ~$100 per person). Will need to accommodate roughly 8 people. I am currently looking on Zomato and Dimmi but thought I’d give Reddit a shot as well. Though I think that the reviews on those sites needed to be taken with a grain of salt… submitted by /u/iamfuturejesus [link] [comments]

Looking for a place i visited once

I once went to this park at night and i can’t for the life of me find where it was. Let me give a description: I walked down and up a dirt road to the top of a hill where there was a big cement box type building that I think was some kind of cult/religious building. It was fenced in, but out on the grass where i was there was a circle of cement blocks (like a mini stonehenge kind of). I walked into the bush in front of the building (it’s surrounded by bushland) and began making my way through shrubs and boulders, eventually settling on a big boulder to sit. I could see the river, and the city in the distance, maybe 10 or so kilometres away? The place is on a pretty steep hill, so i could see the whole city and stuff. Also leading down

Looking to organise a 'puppy-day' for work.

Similar to what Uber did ages ago, I want to organise a puppy day at my workplace to relieve some stress for a few hours. I have already contacted RSPCA and AWL but they charge up to $500 for just 2 dogs for 1-2 hours. Ideally looking for a ligitimate organisation as I don’t want all my staff turning up to ring worms and fleas the next day. submitted by /u/seacow_lipton_icetea [link] [comments]
