Shitty Roommate Part III: Is this a saga now?

Part 1 Part 2 So I didn’t end up filing with QCAT. When I reached their office in the CBD they told me that wanting money back from my roommate and wanting out of my lease are two separate issues, one filed against the roommate, and the other filed against the property management agency, respectively. Property management informed me on June 20th that she paid rent (again), putting us ahead by one fortnight until July 7th (recall that I paid the entire rent last fortnight when we were in arrears). Her share of rent is actually more than mine but I’m willing to forgo that difference. She still owes me ~1k for utilities and what I transferred to her before for my half of the rent. On a side note regarding utilities, our electricity bill is addressed to the unit in an envelope usually jammed in our apartment door, instead

National Parks around Brisbane

Hi I’m an international student staying in Brisbane for 6 month until November. I’d like to get out of Brisbane on the weekends to the surrounding national parks and sights. I’m looking for recommendations on which places to got to as there are so many. Preferably with a camp ground for overnight trips. Any ideas? And how to get there? Rental car is the obvious option, are there any specific companies I should look out for? Cheers submitted by /u/backe991 [link] [comments]

Room wanted close to Annerley and QUT KG.

I’ve got 3 days left on my paid subscription but am finding it really difficult to find an unfurnished place for $150 per week including bills without pets or smokers. It’s been really tough and I would appreciate any help. I can’t live too far away from either suburb because long public transport journeys are expensive and tiring. I know it’s not much, but it’s all I can afford. https://flatmates.com.au/F1913688 submitted by /u/Cyrridven [link] [comments]

Which nightclub was I at?

About 18 months ago, I was in Brisbane for my bucks weekend, and we ended up going to a nightclub which was pretty awesome. We’re going back to Brisbane soon, and I want to track it down to go again but due to the er, copious amounts of alcohol consumed I don’t remember where it was or what it was called What I do remember is that it was in Fortitude Valley, was several stories high, and had these little outdoor walkways between the levels. On the ground floor in the left corner, there was an exit to an outdoor area where people could smoke. The top level had one or two pool tables IIRC submitted by /u/Deon555 [link] [comments]

Experiences during the provisional licensing period (parents of p-platers and p-platers)? (repost)

Hi everyone, I posted this here before, but I thought I’d try again to get more numbers for my study. I’m a traffic researcher from the Centre of Accident Research and Road Safety – Queensland (CARRS-Q) and we’re looking for parents of p-platers to answer an online survey regarding their experiences during the provisional licensing period of their children. We’re also asking p-platers to answer our survey. Doing the survey would be of great help to our research and it will only take 15 to 20 minutes of your time. In recognition of your time, you will be offered the opportunity to enter a random draw for one of four (4) x $50 Coles/Myer gift vouchers. Here’s the link to the survey and if you know anyone who might be in interested in the research, please pass on the link. Thank you so much! http://www.carrsq.qut.edu.au/pplate/index.jsp submitted by /u/trafficresearcher_ [link] [comments]

Where the hell are these places – aka, where to live in Brisbane

I’m exploring a job opportunity which could require moving to Brisbane. Before I sell up in Melbourne, we’d like to rent for a year to get the lay of the land (river, whatever). Where does a professional couple with three mad dachshunds rent a house (with a pool for the hubby who hates heat)? Looking for a nice place, happy to pay up to $700/week that ticks the boxes of 3 bedroom, air con, pool and dog space within a half hour commute of the city. Am I mad or is such a thing possible? If so, where? submitted by /u/louddwnunder [link] [comments]
