Mentor type services for kids

Is anyone aware of any mentor type services for kids in Brisbane, preferably Southside? Those I can find on google are targeted to disadvantaged kids. I’d just love to have someone who would do ‘boys’ stuff with my kids and be a good role model since their dad never makes time for them and we recently moved away from family. submitted by /u/vee-eye-sea [link] [comments]

Lost package – fight it or write it off

Here’s the situation: International student living with me Has ordered goods online to be delivered from China – basic electrical accessories with a combined value of ~$50. Toll left an ‘attempted delivery’ card as signature was required We arranged for re-delivery next day, with authority to leave granted, and signed card left in mailbox for collection by Toll. Next day, card was collected from mailbox, but no package left. The student attempted to contact Toll to report the issue, but due to his pretty basic grasp of English, I’ve had to step in on his behalf when dealing with Toll Customer Support. Toll claim to have “launched an investigation” which involves them contacting the driver to get a confirmation as to where specifically the package was left. After multiple unfulfilled promises that I’d be called back that day/next day, I’ve finally just had them advise that they spoke to the

International student looking for advice

Hi guys, I’m 24 years old student from Colombia, currently in Brisbane. I came to Australia a year ago with a student visa that expires in about 6 months. In the short amount of time that I’ve been here I’ve fallen in love with this place, everything about the aussie lifestyle, the laid back vibe, the people. I’ve come to realize that this is where I want to live for the rest of my life. So here are my options: a) I could extend my student visa, that would mean enrolling in a new course and paying for all the fees. It’s an expensive option and I don’t have the money to pay for it unless I borrow from my friends, which I’d like to avoid. My part time job doesn’t pay nearly enough for me to save that much money, as I pay for everything myself. Rent, food, transport,

Random Translink ride costs

I’ve noticed that the charges on my Translink Go card can be random at times. I normally travel between Yeerongpilly and Roma Street and would normally get deducted $3.20 one way. However, sometimes, I get charged under $2.00 while my wife who took the same ride got charged $3.20. It wasn’t off peak at that time either. Has anyone else have that happen to them? Does anyone know what it happens? submitted by /u/maosiemaos [link] [comments]
